Ever wondered what task lighting is? Let's break it down. Task lighting refers to lighting that is designed for specific tasks or activities – hence the name. Frequently used by architects, writers, artists and creatives, task lighting is perfect for times when focused and easily maneuverable lighting is required.

Task lighting comes in a few forms, such as: desk lamps, table lamps, wall task lights, and floor task lamps. And, for non-wall task lights, they're generally available in either a clamp or weighted table base option. This means that you can choose between securely affixing the task light to a desk, sewing table, work table or kitchen bench; or, you could opt for a weighted table base so that it can be moved around much like a regular table or desk lamp.
